I love award functions more than the awards as a matter of fact.

Allow me to tell you why. It’s a great moment of time, captured for posterity where a majority of people are collectively ‘Happy’.

The business I find myself deeply entrenched in ‘Hospitality’ actually harbours a majority of folks who aren’t really Happy. Let me elucidate. Long working hours, time sacrificed with family, stress, heartache and daily tribulations and for who? Us the customer.

So the Happiness we derive from going out to an establishment has a lot floating beneath the surface in a matter of speaking.

Now imagine a magical time-space where all these front facing and backend faceless personalities- congregate for a few hours of joys and smiles, being recognised for what they bring to the table (in a matter of literal speaking). That’s what I LOVE ❤️. Just being giddily happy for them!!! To share their moment of bliss.

I was surprised to be at the receiving end of a special category of award – FBAI Star for which I am humbled and ever so grateful to the entire team behind it and to my followers and detractors.
